organizer questions
Hosting an event, and what it costs to publish
Why do you charge for an event?
So every athlete gets their photos free. One fee per event pays for hosting, bib search and a gallery that stays up for 3 years. Whoever creates the event pays, once. There is no subscription. Athletes never pay, and there are no ads.
What happens when an event passes 500 photos?
Nothing stops. Photographers keep uploading. When you publish, the button shows your price (from $19). Until you pay, the event is not public, but you can still see everything in your manage hub. Events with 500 photos or fewer publish free.
How do I know what I will pay?
Your price is based on your photo count when you publish. Your manage hub shows the count live. As a rough guide, one photographer for under an hour is free. One or two for about an hour is Small ($19). Two or three for a couple of hours is Medium ($39).
Do athletes ever pay?
No. Athletes search by bib and download full-size photos free, with no account. That never changes, on free or paid events.
Can a photographer pay for an event?
Yes, if you created the event. Whoever creates an event pays for it. If you upload to someone else's event, you never pay.
What if my event grows after I pay?
You pay only the difference between the two plans. Never a second full fee.
Do I pay for each distance in a race weekend?
No. Add a sub-event for each distance, before or after you pay. Each gets its own gallery and link. Photos from the whole weekend are counted together, so a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon are one payment, not three. Runners can search every distance at once.
What happens when hosting ends?
Free events stay up for 6 months after you publish. Paid events stay up for 3 years after you pay. You can keep a free event up for 3 years for $5. We email you before it ends. Then the photos are removed. Photographers keep their own originals.
Can I keep a free gallery longer?
Yes. Pay $5 once and it stays up for 3 years from the day you pay. If you run the race again, the photos promote the next one. It covers hosting only, so the photo limit stays the same. Buy it from the event's manage hub.
What happens to my photos if I don't pay?
Nothing is lost. An event over 500 photos is not public until you publish. You can still see, hide and download everything in your manage hub.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final. You pay after your photos are uploaded, and deleting photos after paying does not lower the price. We show the price and this rule before checkout. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will fix it.
What currency will I be charged in?
Prices are in US dollars. At checkout, Stripe may charge you in your local currency. Sales tax is added where it applies.
The price table and worked examples are on the pricing page. The legal version lives in our Terms of Service.
